Renovation Systems partners with multiple firms to makeover Metro Apartments

Renovation Systems has partnered with CommonBond Communities and over ten companies to complete the first Volunteer-Extreme Apartment Makeover at CommonBond’s Metro Apartments. The companies will transform an apartment community built nearly 20 years ago and serving individuals who live on very low incomes. A total of three apartments will be remodeled this weekend; one of the three apartments is currently occupied. More than 400 volunteer hours and $40,000 in services and products have been donated to make this makeover a success.

The event will take place on Sunday, May 15 from 2:30-3:30 p.m at 20 W. 92nd Street in Bloomington, Minn.

The following companies have donated a product/service to make this a successful event; • Allied Waste of MN-dumpsters • All Inc-energy efficient appliances • All Kind Painting-paint labor for walls, ceilings, trim, doors • Armstrong Cabinets-plantation hardwood cabinets from fast growing renewable sources • Budget Blinds-new blinds and installation service • FastSigns-construction signage • Graybar-energy efficient LED lighting and compactfluorescent friendly light fixtures • Hirschfield’s-low VOC (volatile organic compounds) paint • Melissa’s CleaningService-cleaning services • RENOVATION SYSTEMSorganizing the Volunteer-Extreme Makeover event. Completing the following work; demolition, floor covering and subfloor products and installation services (carpet and vinyl), installation of kitchen cabinets, refinishing of bathroom countertops and bathtubs, created material boards for visual pieces. Donated cabinets for one apartment. Using sustainable, environmentally friendly products and business practices to support CommonBond’s commitment to operating sustainable housing communities.
